Match the system to the exams you'll bill
Premium systems are impressive, but the right choice is the one that fits the exams you actually perform and get reimbursed for. Count your expected scans per week, check whether you need a credentialed sonographer and accredited lab for certain exams, and compare new against certified refurbished. For many practices a refurbished cart system with the right probes pays for itself fastest.

Ultrasound financing questions
Can I finance a refurbished ultrasound machine?
Yes. Certified pre-owned systems from established dealers can be financed, often at a much lower total cost than new.
Can extra transducers be included?
Yes. Additional probes, software packages and warranty extensions can be financed with the system.
Should I lease or buy an ultrasound system?
If you expect to upgrade within 3 to 5 years, an FMV lease gives the lowest payment. If you plan to keep the system, a $1 buyout lease or EFA lets you own it and may qualify for Section 179.
Can a new practice finance ultrasound?
Yes. New practices are considered based on the owners' credit and experience, usually with a down payment.
How much can I finance on the application alone?
Up to about $250,000 with a one-page application, depending on credit and time in business. Larger packages, up to $5,000,000, need financial statements.
Do you finance veterinary ultrasound?
Yes. Ultrasound for veterinary practices is financed the same way. See our veterinary equipment leasing page.
